Our mission is to amplify the voices of birthing persons, especially Black women. North Star Birthing Services puts the health, well-being, and needs of birthing persons first. We provide evidence-based education, physical support, emotional support, and encouragement for self advocacy through birth and postpartum services. We actively work to make our services available to anyone regardless of financial barriers. We service clients in the greater Lansing, MI area and up to an 80 mile radius.

"Sharde' and Domonique are amazing. As transplants to the Lansing area, we don't have family in the state. Having doulas, both birthing and postpartum to help us prepare for the birth and life with our first baby was very important to us. Our baby was born February 2022. Sharde' taught us comfort measures to use during labor, assisted with a detailed birth plan, and was with us during the entire labor and delivery process. After the birth, Domonique has been beyond responsive and encouraged us through the first rough parts of breastfeeding and has been invaluable in coming to help with cleaning, knowledgeable facts, and nighttime relief. We couldn't advocate for them more."
