Let’s jump right in and talk about how your #LansingDoulaDuo came to be and why we are bomb.com (do people still say that? 🤷🏽♀️😂).
We’ve shared our stories of what drew us each into birthwork- Domonique driven by a personal experience and Sharde’ driven by a passion to make a change, but how did we join together? Well we were two friends who loved food, travel, and random adventures way before North Star was even a thought! ✈️ 🍱🤸🏾♂️🧗🏽♀️
We’ve both traveled to some amazing places together and separately. Some of our faves are Hawaii, Greece, and Guatemala! We love some good Thai food, sushi, and are always down to try vegan ish.
Soo…what does this have to do with starting a business together, you ask? Just like we share a love for all of the above, we share a similar love and passion for birthwork and we know our strengths and weaknesses but together we are a strong duo fighting for better birth outcomes. And another important similarity, is our shared values, which is important in partnerships (of all kinds).
If one person falls, the other can reach out and help (Ecc 4:10). If one person takes a vacation, the other can hold it down ✈️😂.
While one of us is a creative, social visionary-the other is a behind the scenes tech, business writing guru. One of us will whip up a homemade meal for postpartum families, while the other will pick up food in a heartbeat😂 One of us has mastered making reels, while the other well 🥴🥴. Can you guess which is which? 😉
While many approach birthwork individually and have great success-North Star has a pretty great thing with our #LansingDoulaDuo that extends to the clients we serve in us providing our best service to them!
